Welcome to DIRTY HARRY ON LOCATION
This is a DIRTY HARRY appreciation blog. A modest tribute to Don Siegel’s 1971 cult classic thriller starring Clint Eastwood, Andy Robinson and Harry Guardino. Personal gratification aside, the blog's primary objective is to expose where many of the film's most memorable sequences were shot while simultaneously showcasing the city of SAN FRANCISCO from an unconventional and largely uncharted perspective. The blog covers 14 separate locations. Arranged roughly in sequence as they occured in the film each one can be found listed in the menu above. Through a combination of contemporary “on location” photographs, short improvised film montages, and still cinema scene-shots, it will aim to provide a “then and now” insight into each location by comparing the state of play in 1971 and 2011.
